Quality Assurance Coordinator

To support the Quality Manager and Laboratory Team Leader with maintenance of the quality management systems and laboratory systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To drive best HSE Practices and lead by example in communicating and reinforcing the policy.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with the administration of customer complaint records. Investigate and prepare detailed analysis reports for customer enquiries/complaints.
  • Aid with the administration of supplier complaints. Ensure they are recorded and actioned by the responsible person.
  • Support the Sales team with quality and customer related requests and enquiries. Complete customer questionnaires and supply any documentation requested in relation to them.
  • Support the Quality Manager in sustaining and administrating the internal audit schedule and be an active part of the internal audit team.
  • Involvement in 2nd and 3rd party audits (customer, supplier and external bodies).
  • Maintain and report monthly KPIs and quality performance.
  • Take responsibility for the quality team approval to purchase product from sites in Japan and the USA.
  • Control and update laboratory and quality documentation and systems in accordance with requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Assist the logistics department with any requests. Provide quality certification documents (certificates of analysis, certificates of conformity, declarations of origin, etc).
  • Maintain and update information in laboratory spreadsheets and databases, ensuring they are functioning correctly and are current.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for laboratory chemicals and consumables.
  • Support the Quality Manager and Laboratory Team Leader with quarantining and release of final product and raw materials.
  • Update and maintain the final product material safety data sheet system.
  • When required, provide cover for the Quality Manger and administrative cover for the Laboratory Team Leader.

Other Responsibilities

  • Responsible for approving product purchases from Japan and the USA.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Education

  • Of A-level calibre (English, Maths or Science disciplines).
  • Quality related qualification or relevant experience in quality systems is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 required.

Training

  • Full in-house training required for the role.
  • Internal Auditor trained.

Experience

  • Quality systems experience working in an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing / processing environment preferable. Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 an advantage.

Engineering Inventory Controller

Provide professional stock control and improvements/development of the Engineering inventory.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate and demonstrate commitment to best HSE practices.
  • Support the implementation of HSE practices within the engineering and production environment.
  • Execute the responsibilities of Technicians and all employees as outlined in the HSE responsibilities overarching document.
  • This job role is exclusively responsible for the day to day running of a Technical/Engineering store which also encompasses PPE, Oils/lubricants, Equipment and consumables. Duties include but are not limited to the following: <ol.c>
  • Monitor and control stock levels, identify improvements to reduce inventory.
  • Receipt/issue materials and control all stock movements.
  • Control of registers for plant and test equipment, hoses etc.
  • Identify and support future Maximo inventory system developments.
  • Create stock reports and KPI’s to monitor performance of this key business function.
  • Work with the Procurement team to order replacement stock and consumables as required. Liaise with suppliers to ensure “on time” deliveries.
  • Responsible for the annual (or rolling) stock check, be accountable for stock accuracy.
  • Play a key role in the development of the stores infrastructure to support future capital projects.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach to the role.

Other Responsibilities

  • Undertake all necessary training as identified by line Manager to maximise performance.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Education

  • High standard of secondary education as a minimum. Preference given to 7 or more GCSE qualifications including Math and English at Grades A-C.

Training

  • Must be fully conversant with Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Also stock control software experience would be an advantage, particularly with MAXIMO or other sequel-based software i.e. SAP.

Experience

  • High level of oral and written communication skills at all business levels.
  • Proven track record in Inventory control and stores development.
  • Thorough understanding of maintenance parts/equipment and terms used in Mechanical, Electrical and Instrument Engineering.
  • Good level of commercial awareness.
  • The ability to create and present information and reports to the supply chain team will be required.
  • The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an innovative and dynamic approach to their work whilst maintaining a focus on detail and accuracy.

Contacts and Relationships

  • Relationship building between NG engineering and all other internal customers.
  • Supplier management for spares re-ordering.

Special Working Conditions/h4>

  • Some manual handling will be required.
  • Forklift and MEWP operating potentially.

Project Engineer (Mech bias)

Responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of site Projects from concept through to close out – including leadership of external contractors throughout project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate and demonstrate commitment to best HS&E practices and standards.
  • Execute the responsibilities of Engineers/Technicians and all employees as outlined in the HSE responsibilities overarching document.
  • Support and lead the development of processes/procedures for the control of a variety of small to larger scale site projects.
  • Responsible for project management of a portfolio of business projects and concept studies – including budget management, stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting.
  • Responsible for the tracking & periodic reporting of projects to the relevant manufacturing & management teams.
  • Technical Authority on Mechanical & Civil design of site projects within defined boundaries.
  • Support other project managers with the delivery of site based projects – including design, installation and close out.
  • Develop, deliver & maintain standardised MOD procedure training modules.
  • Develop, Mechanical designs from the Process Engineering Functional design concepts for relevant assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with NGUK functions and third party contractors to ensure development of Electrical, Instrument and control designs in line with project milestones.
  • Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument, control and Civil design approval from the relevant NGUK discipline Engineer.
  • Ensure compliance to applicable Engineering standards and EU/UK legislation.
  • Liaise with Procurement to purchase appropriately specified equipment/materials.
  • Coordinate the development of work-packs for project installation.
  • Work with external contractors to ensure project installation is fully scoped and resourced.
  • Coordinate the installation of specified projects in conjunction with the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and the installing contractor/s.
  • Coordinate the sign off and handover of all projects.
  • Coordinate the documentation update and closure of all projects.
  • Develop KPI’s as part of the project function to monitor the project / MOD process.
  • Support the Senior Project Engineer in CAPEX budgeting and forecasting.
  • Develop good relationships with key internal and external stakeholders committed to furthering the interests of Nippon Gohsei.
  • Provide appropriate Mechanical discipline support based on business requirements.
  • Support and promote standardisation of engineering practices and processes.

Other Responsibilities

  • Technical advisor for the purchase of new Mechanical equipment as part of CAPEX upgrade projects.
  • Technical Authority for Mechanical & Civil documentation approvals.
  • Ensure satisfactory budgetary control of all aspects Capex or Improvement projects.
  • Financial spend authority (Discipline Engineer level).
  • Control of Contractors, contractor selection, acceptance of control of work systems.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • HNC/Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in the Petro/Chemical industry.
  • Member of appropriate Professional body.
  • Industry Relevant Project Management qualification.
